Bossy Bethie

Another of my favorite artists is Mo Manning. The challenge at her blog is the theme of Love incorporating buttons, a bow, and lace along with one of her images. Since I've been very busy with Mo's Bethie lately I decided to use her again for a Valentine card. While Bethie doesn't scream girly bows and frills she does usually have a message of some sort to scream out. Last card I made with her she was trying to sell her little brother. This card she is demanding someone - anyone within earshot - to be her Valentine. So here she is sans fru-fru.

Be My VALENTINE!~Papertrey Ink base card
~Layer of white glossy photo cardstock stamped with hearts from a dollar bin at Michael's and embossed using Ranger Rich Red embossing powder
~Square scallop of red cardstock using Spellbinder's Nestibilities, dry embossed using Cuttlebug Swiss Dots and Cuttlebug, edges dotted with Sharpie white poster paint pen
~Another layer of glossy photo cardstock square scalloped and dotted with Sharpie red pen
~Image purchased at Mo's Digital Pencil, colored with Copics, wheel centers topped with Stampin' Up Crystal Effects
~Hearts in wagon from assorted (three are from Stampin' Up Love It)

Challenges
Mo Manning - Lots of Love
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Love is in the Air
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Seeing Red
Do You Stack Up - Red Hot
Simon Says Stamp and Show - Embossing
The Pink Elephant - Be My Valentine
Crazy for Challenges - Valentine's Day Card

This also Mo Manning's Bethie from a previous post (Ahhhhh Siblings). Although she is interested in bartering away her brother he looks perfectly content to get a free wagon ride and eat the cookies she no doubt bribed him with.

I have another Bethie card to post, but alas, work is calling. Another day on The CLIFF awaits me.

Thanks for clicking by.

  2. Nancy, I just found your blog, which I love very much. It appears we have some things in common.... I grew up in Sioux City and still have lots of family there. I currently live in Branson, MO, after living in Phoenix for much of my adult life. I am putting your blog on my favorites list and becoming a follower. I, too, love Mo Manning, Sassy Cheryl and several others I see on your blog. I'll be back to visit, for sure!

  5. Nancy, I tend to slather on the Copics, too, especially reds! Next time I go to Sioux City we should get together and color! We can be loud or whisper the color on --- whatever we feel like! Glad to know ya!

  9. Hey Nancy - these Mo Mannings are stinkin cute! Your coloring is spot on and you really captured the "attitude" of sweet Bethie! Thanks also for the sweet comment on my blogaversary post - you made me SMILE today and it's nice to hear that you appreciate comments that reflect that the commenter really read the post :-) I loved hearing about the food contests your boys were having - thanks for sharing the results with me - I have a 22 year old but we're usually dealing with Beer Pong or such contests LOL (although I have bested the boys a few times - but I make them drink the beer LOL). Thanks again for making my day - Have a great week. Hugs~
