Birthday BOOM

Needed to make granddaughter Bailey a birthday card and I wanted to personalize it. When I thought about a personalized card I immediately looked to my long-distance friend Julie! She inspired me enough to get over my Cricut fear. I busted out the cartridges and dusted off the Cricut took a deep breath and BOOM!

As much as I love my dear sweet Bailey, I couldn't manage to make a super deluxe card like Miss Julie's but I think "Bootsy" will like her card. Thank you Julie!!!

Fairy Piecing

Love this little flower fairy but was feelin' Sunday-sloth-like so instead of Copics I cheated and opted for paper piecing. With all the cutting...Copics might have been quicker. However, I love to paper piece,  it is so therapeutic for me. Copics...not so much. I was browsing through some of my favorite challenges and put together a card to meld the challenges.

Harvey Minnion

Daughter Amy home for the long weekend! Whooot!

We have a family favorite Sunday breakfast place. It is a total dive. A long lived 'mom-pop' shop! Best breakfast-anytime local diner EVER! We have been loyal Harvey fans for years. When Amy was a wee one - playing 'restaurant' with rubber 'food' and plastic dishware - the name of her restaurant was Harvey's. One time one of the waitresses sent an order pad home with us making Amy's Harvey's even MORE authentic than ever! Don't know how many plastic 'Memere eggs I "ate" over their 'play waitress' years (my kid's name for over-easy eggs...because that is the only kind of egg they had when going to their grandma's {Memere} house). Good times! Good memories! Good food (the real stuff AND the plastic kind).

Well the whole point to this story is this photo. On our way to Harvey's today Amy spotted a Minnion! I love Minnions! So of course we had to stop for a photo op! I'm sure making a Minion out of a fire hydrant is a no-no as far as the fire department is concerned - but HOW CUTE IS HE!!!???

Amy is alternating between watching the US Open (tennis) and Lost in Austen while I share the family-room space in my adjoining "Bubble". Go Bryan Brother - Go Venus - Go USA!

Time together with my Amy - LOVE IT! And now on to the card...
