I could tell you about playing floor parent to one of the college kids tonight...responding to a "my car won't start and I'm stuck at work"... but it is very late and I'm too tired to get into it. I also have another 'naked cupcake' story to share! Later...tonight it's all about the cards.
Since I'm advisor for the student government group I'm overseeing the speaker event this Thursday. I know I'm forgetting some detail (or two or three)... GEEEEZZZZZ everything from spare batteries for the wireless mic, to bottled water for the speaker, to ordering menu items, to rounding up volunteers. I need to learn to delegate! The speaker is Immaculee Ilibagiza and while the spring speaker event is usually attended only by reluctant students - we have a bus load of Minnesotans coming and MANY people from the Siouxland area planning on attending. This with VERY limited seating. Oh well...I'll just roll with it.
I actually made this over the weekend. No Bubble time this week. CRAZY times at work! This is a Whimsical Wednesday sketch challenge. It is a theme challenge for over at Stampin' B's who throw down was for a humorous card.
Got Cake?
~Base card - Paper Trey Ink
~Design paper - BasicGrey Cupcake
~Horizontal stripe of blue cardstock - topped with more BasicGrey Cupcake
~Image is Dustin Pike Pirate Dragon (freebie digital); printed on PTI Vanilla Cream, colored with Copics and watercolor pencils, layered on red and blue cardstocks
~Assorted buttons
~Sentiment I just made up - I liked the image but didn't know how to incorporate it into a card - then I thought he looked like his 'sword' was ready to slice up some cake
My blog editor is requesting this card - so off he goes to Omaha!
These are the cards I made for the "getting Catholic" kids. The image is a freebie digital. It was somewhat colored in but I Copic'd right over it. I added mini-punched flowers to the bases. Sentiment text from Just Rite using the Word Window punch from Stampin' Up. The stripe background is TPC Studio Love Stripe. The floral background is Fancy Pants Design Fall Spendor.
That's all I have for now.
You can get up close with the cards by clicking on the images.
All good wishes,
Nancy
Really like the humorous 'got cake' card you did for the StampinB this week. Glad you joined us. That sword looks as if it could cut a whopper of a piece of cake. Yum! All your cards are great!!!
